Cost of Security

Calling All Dancers

Dancers, I want you to think about this next time you are stepping onto your club’s stage. The next time you do that amazing trick where you climb to the top of the two story pole. Did you know that without health insurance, diagnosis and non-surgical treatment for a broken arm typically costs up to $2,500 or more. Without health insurance, surgical treatment of a broken arm typically costs $16,000 or more. While you may be getting rained on, those ones are hardly enough to cover your ride in an ambulance.

Now I don’t mean to sound grim, but I was once that uninsured stripper who didn’t know what to do after I turned 25 and was off my parent’s plan. Coming from a state that constantly rescues hikers in the summer who don’t stay off the trails; I always wondered how these people afforded the $100k helicopter fee. And I wondered this for years without realizing I was just as naive as these people for going to work every night uninsured. Rolling the dice each time I clocked in without even thinking about the long term consequences.

Stripclubs have a very unpredictable environment and while you may be careful, not everyone in the club has the same awareness or respect. You can only control how prepared you are for an event. Take it from someone who has dealt with customers leaving their drinks right under your feet, on your stages and other dancers who don’t know how to put lotion on at home… you can’t ever be too prepared when it comes to your health or bank account.

Out of all the providers out there, I would go with Stride as they already work with independent contractors like us and they understand our specific needs. Check out their website and after a few clicks and questions you’ll be on your way to health insurance.

Allyson

As a stripper and webcam model of 14 years I have always enjoyed sharing my knowledge with others about the industry. One thing that was apparent from the beginning was how very few places had our best interests in mind. I started succexxxful (pronounced successful just a lil spicier) as a "How To" content based site to answer questions, and changed direction when I realized how I could truly help. By offering adult entertainers better solutions to insurance information and resources I’ve created a platform designed for a chance to feel equal, secure and educated.
