Every year from November 1st – January 15th is something called Open Enrollment. As Americans our way of obtaining health insurance is different from other countries, so it’s not something you see talked about world wide. For us as sex workers and adult content creators (aka Independent Contractors) that leaves us to shop for our own each year, on our own.
Most people will send you to the official Healthcare.gov website and say this is your only option. However, there are a decent amount of other options for you. My job is to sift through all of them and see what truly is the best place for us (and I miss the days when that was us, but sadly our market is no longer and that is why education and direction is the best thing I can offer this space.)
